The word 'Towradgi' is a corruption of the aboriginal word 'Kowradgi', meaning 'Guardian of the Sacred Stones'. Members are encouraged to receive part in activities ranging from patrolling through to competing and social activities. The club also offers a number of facilities for Active Members including complimentary gym access and to the function room when available. Towradgi SLSC members lead a healthy and energetic lifestyle, and have been an integral portion of the local community for over 63 years! This is a incredible way to confront new people and form new friendships. yips is a reward program for members aged 13 to 25 and operates on a points based system, where participants accumulate points for being involved in a range of lifesaving activities. As points and patrol hours accumulate, youth get rewarded for their contribution in three stages along the way: Surf Lifesaving is highly respected by the public and continual involvement in a volunteer organization, as documented by the yips program, will do vast things to aid develop members' education, broaden employment opportunities, and boost life skills in general.
