Providing accommodation and support to homeless and vulnerable young people and their families. Southern Youth and Family Services (SYFS) is governed by a community based Board of Management. Health including family planning, nursing, mental health and drug and alcohol interventions including counseling. Southern Youth and Family Services (SYFS) employs approximately one hundred staff including casual staff. In general, the Staff have an extensive history of busy with young people who are vulnerable, disadvantaged and homeless including those at risk of vulnerability, disadvantage and homelessness and their families. The work that Southern Youth and Family Services does is only plausible through the encourage and commitment shown by the continued funding from the subsequent organizations: It assists interested groups of people statewide to plan, develop and establish housing cooperatives. Council to Homelessness Persons http:aw.cap.org.auindex.shtml (link is external) The Council to Homeless Persons is the pinnacle Victorian body representing individuals and organizations with a stake or interest in homelessness. We do by providing urge to youth workers through training, policy, research, and raising community awareness, we also bear direct services to young people. Edmund Rice center for Justice and Community Education http:aw.arc.org.au (link is external) The center is a community education, networking and advocacy organization whose aim is to elevate public awareness around key social justice issues including Indigenous, refugee and youth concerns. MSW Children’s Commission http:aw.kids.new.gov.au (link is external) The Commission is an independent organization that works with others to make MSW a better deposit for children and young people. Australian Drug Foundation http:aw.ad.org.au (link is external) provides drug and alcohol information in many formats which is delivered in many ways through our Information Services. They also undertake community development and research into youth drug and alcohol related issues. Association for the Welfare of Kid Health http:aw.arch.org.au (link is external) The Australian Association for the Wellbeing of Children in Healthcare (arch) is a national, nonprofit organization of parents, professionals and community members who work together to ensure the emotional and social needs of children, adolescents and their families are recognized and met within hospitals and the health concern system in Australia. Southern Youth and Family Services (SYFS), is an independent, local community based benevolent (charity) organization in the Southern piece of MSW. This urge extends to the children and families of these young people. SYFS assists individual young people and their families to improve their living situation, to reunite them to their families, to maintain their tenancies, to learn living and social skills, to link them to education and training, to support them to decrease the barriers to employment, and to enhance their health and overall well being. Southern Youth and Family Services strives to produce quality, punctual and flexible services. Southern Youth and Family Services Association Incorporated has been built up for over thirty years to provide an extensive range of services. The organization has an experienced and diligent Board of Management and a committed and skilled Staff across a range of disciplines. The organization has a community based Board of Management. The University had created links with Southern Youth and Family Services a few years before my placement and have continued this potent link with a number of students visiting the organization each year, broadening their understanding and practice when busy with young people in disadvantaged situations.
