What you should know about Cinnamon Twist School Of Belly Dance
I was also studying at the University of Wollongong at the time and my belly dance world and academic studies began to meld and merge I searched far and expansive for literature about the dance and its history. Virginia earned her PhD in 2007 behind producing the first total doctoral thesis on the history of belly dance in literature and culture (read more about Virginia's research here). In 2005 Virginia took a leap and opened Cinnamon Twist School of Belly Dance. The Cinnamon Twist team are comprised of highly dedicated, and experienced teachers and performers with a deep accepting of belly dance and a passion for sharing it with our students. Virginia's teaching philosophy is based on the notion that dance is a community endeavor as healthy as a personal journey. We also present Arabic Drumming for all levels. At Cinnamon Twist we trust that belly dance is not only a merriment way to get fit and confront other women, but it can begin the doors to a total world of music, sequins, laughter, and joy. The team at Cinnamon Twist are committed to a shared vision of teaching belly dance with a focus on flawless technique in a mirth and warm and encouraging environment. She teaches at every glossy in the school from beginners to advanced. Virginia has a very broad knowledge of contemporary cabaret belly dance as well focused knowledge of a variety of folkloric dances from the Middle East and North Africa. When she heard about the benefits of belly dancing through pregnancy and work she thought it seemed a appropriate time to start. Apart from teaching belly dance Mel is also a member of Cinnamon Twist's advanced class. She says, it's incredible to be a student of Cinnamon Twist, I enjoy always being challenged and I'm learning and growing with every class. Mel is a Cinnamon Twist dance troupe member. Jessica was beginning introduced to belly dancing when she was at lofty school where the dance was offered as a weekly sport. It wasn't until many years later that I began dancing regularly. Jessica is passionate and enthusiastic about belly dance and in addition to teaching the dance she is a committed member of the Cinnamon Twist performance troupe: Being capable to take portion in community performances where audience members are invited and encouraged to get up and offer it a go is a authentic highlight for me. She explains There is something special about seeing someone try something they might not have otherwise experienced and appreciate every last moment. For Jessica, Cinnamon Twist offers a sense of community Cinnamon Twist provides an environment of encouragement and support, which is particularly urgent for newer students who are finding their confidence in the dance. As a teacher of this dance, being capable to provide women with new learning experiences through dance is an honor. Matt has been playing percussion professionally since 1997 and teaching since 199. Matt has developed his musical skills in a wide variety of percussive styles and has traveled widely including trips to Cuba, West Africa, India and South America to experience and observe percussion beginning hand.
