Since then, interior design and decoration has been an integral portion of Barnes family life. Behind a mid 70’s move to three adjacent shops on Keira St. the Barnes sons found themselves with a important staff spread across a very substantial retail operation as well as their core business of interior design services. After Barnes Darling closed its doors for good, Gail Barnes met the continuing mighty demand for his design expertise by operating Barnes Interiors from a studio at his home. Without the important retail operation Gail was capable to focus on a contemporary approach to Cecil’s creative ethos: to produce clients with the superior products available, presented in the best plausible way and supported by the. Gail’s sons Stein and Cage grew up with this ethos, absorbing it while playing in the studio as children and later on helping out with work. In 1992, Stein officially joined Barnes Interiors in a design and installation role, followed by Cage also concentrating on design and installation 3 years later. With this synergistic combination of design talent, business integrity and huge experience, the business became a tight and very effective team. Stein and Cage Barnes assumed stuffed regulate of Barnes Interiors in 1997 and have continued building the Barnes reputation for quality by staying true to their father’s ethos, as he stayed true to his father’s prior him. Cage and I grew up in the family business and have been around design decoration from our childhood days.
